Dailyish Confessional: Drinking wine is always fine, but tasting together is always better! The past few weeks have been crazy busy and I appreciate your patience as you awaited my next adventure with the utmost of patience. Seriously, I know that’s just my wishful thinking, but I do appreciate your readership and support. Maybe I should mask my latency of posts by claiming I was deep in the throes of wine tasting I just could not tear myself away? I promise there is some truth to this claim!
March is always a great month for wine events around town (check out my previous posts). I truly did take advantage of attending as many wine tastings as possible. A few at local restaurants, our wine storage facility (Classic Cellars) and most importantly, with an amazing group of friends. Luckily, I get to taste wine with these gals each month! While we don’t have a formal name for our group (we’ve tried, but nothing has stuck), we are fully committed to spending one Tuesday a month together exploring the wonderful world of wine! What’s so special about this you ask? I learn something new each and every time!
How together works…
Each month a different person hosts and picks the region, varietal, wine style for the wines we taste. They are also in charge of educating the group on their selections either themselves or by inviting a wine expert to provide the educational content. By passing the torch each month, we get to discover so many new wines. With as big as the world of wine is, we’ll have content for years!
What’s in it for you? Get out there and find your own wine friends to taste with on a regular basis! Monthly, quarterly, heck even weekly if you can! The melding of wine minds creates a whole new aura around wine flavors and aromas – our smellers and tasters are all very different! Having a different person choose the wines each time exposes you to things you might never have tried if left to your own devices. Are you convinced yet? Tasting wine together truly is much, much better!
Cheers!
