Daily Confessional: 2021 has ripped my heart out, been the king of cancellation celebrations (yeah, those are one’s that didn’t happen) and left me less than beaming with joy for a year well lived. I will, however, pull out my sunshine, rainbow unicorns and eternal optimism crown and don it with pride this New Year’s Eve because I’m not about to let 2021 win – nope, not me! I’m going to shred the negativity, loss and disappointment and reveal those little glimmers underneath the blackened surface of this year….
What the heck have I been drinking you may ask (to be fair, a 2007 Schweiger Cab is in my glass at present) to renew even a thread of optimism? Well, my friends, I am thankful for many things as 2022 becomes ever more real and present. I’m thankful for you, and all of my friends who have supported me on my crazy wine journey and all it entails – tastings, studying, learning how to build an online course, social media (yep still a struggle) and my endless ramblings about wine. Thank you for friends who traveled to wine regions and endured my incessant grilling of wine makers and tasting room managers (Ronda…Jackie… Jane… Laura… and more!). Thanks to my hubby for knowing I really wasn’t watching the sporting event or movie most evenings as I was blogging, reading or otherwise obsessing about something wine related. And special thanks to those of you who included me in wine events as a professional and not jut a hobbyist. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. You’re my diamonds in the rough because you believe in me and my passion for wine.
So here’s to 2022! May it bring you joy, happiness, solace, peace, friendship, family and whatever fills your heart and makes you feel whole and complete. Let’s do this!!! 2022, here we come!
