Daily Confessional: I confess, some days, bubbles are the only thing I crave with my dinner. I’m pretty darned sure I’m not alone, right?! On a recent business trip, this craving washed over me like a 100 foot tidal wave and with the excitement of a toddler meeting a puppy, I rushed to our table for dinner fully prepared to indulge in a glass of bubbly bliss.
Whoa nelly! Our host picked a WHISKEY restaurant – what? You gotta be kidding me! Now what was I going to do? Confession – while I don’t consider myself a bubble snob, I much prefer bubbles produced in the traditional method perfected in the Champagne region of France. Two options on the menu narrowed the selection down for me – Spanish Cava and an Italian rosé. This is where a bit of wine education comes in really handy! Fun fact, Cava cannot be called Cava unless it is produced in the traditional method. Problem solved! Cheers! Prost! Skold!
